Our annual community plantout days are a great opportunity to get outdoors, connect with others, and make a lasting contribution to the health of our environment. Whether you’re a seasoned volunteer or joining us for the first time, everyone is welcome!
Each year, our volunteers help establish thousands of native plants that improve water quality, create habitat for wildlife, and strengthen the ecological resilience of the Selwyn catchment. Every plant makes a difference, and every pair of hands helps.
Further details, including meeting locations, start times, and what to bring, will be provided closer to each event. We look forward to seeing you there as we work together to grow the Te Arā Kākāriki Greenway.

Saturday 5th September
Join us as we plant at two sites in our lower catchment. Our morning site is located in Lincoln, and our afternoon site is located in Springston.
Self-drive for both sites with lunch provided.
Saturday 19th September
Join us as we plantt two more sites in our lower catchement both located in Tai Tapu.
Self-drive for both sites with morning and afternoon tea provided.
Saturday 10th October
Join as we move to the Upper Catchment to plant two sites. One near Darfield, and our other in Sheffield.
Lunch provided, and a free bus service will be operating for those that wish to travel to site by bus.
